Abstracts

Some of these abstract works do not depict real objects from nature. Objects have been eliminated and the aesthetic content is expressed in the structure of lines, shapes, colors and textures. Thus the works can be given a narrative or idea by the viewer that personally suits the art work.

The “Letter/Ladder” works are semi-abstract since they have subject matters. It represents the climb for MORE. It seems to be the nature of most people to seek more of everything desired. Most people seem to be climbing up and up trying to gain more and more, thus, the abstract ladder image. It represents the climb for MORE. I have abstracted alphabet letters as a means of expressing the ascend. The white rungs are broken and uneven because the climb is difficult and precarious. Attached to each work are bags of shredded money and are at the Top of the compositions.
