Houses
house
noun
/hous/
1. to provide or be a home or shelter for someone or something.
2. a structure intended or used for human or animal habitation.
A house is a home whether it is a bungalow, cottage, mansion, a tenement or a tent. It’s a place whatever the structure is that we call “home.”
In these works I’m expressing homes in an urban stressful setting
where violence plays an active role-putting stress on the people in the houses. I have wrapped barbed wire around houses as a means of protection. All the houses are windowless for protection as well. Several have bloody cloths hanging from the barbed wire.
In “Urban Violence” numbers 1, 2 & 3, there is a warm sunny light projected on the homes, almost signaling a ray of hope.
